The most easterly point in Australia, Byron bay is a must visit in Australia, a chilled out surf town it offers amazing pristine beaches and surfing spots. Byron offers over 100 places to eat and some of the coolest cafes and bars on the East Coast.
With the Basic Film Festival in February, Blues & Roots Music Festival and Surf Classic at Easter; the Writers Festival in July and the Byron Bay Ocean Swim Classic and the Byron Triathlon in May, Byron is more often than not hosting great events you can enjoy during your stay.
With heaps of activities including Hand gliding by the lighthouse, sea kayaking with dolphins, Surf lesson, Skydiving, horse ride, scuba diving, golf and much more, you'll have a hard time experiencing all of Byron unless you give yourself 3 or 4 days here.
You can also book onto a guided tour to Nimbin, a small hippie town where anything goes, this is a real eye opener and should definately be part of your stay.
