Auckland is known as the City of Sails, it is home to nearly a third of the population and is the starting or finishing point for most visitors to New Zealand.

This city has plenty to offer in terms of shopping and nightlife. It's a great place to visit and can offer you a great time no matter what you're in to. You can relax on a beach, visit some of the 50 dormant volcanoes, go on a boat cruise, jump off a bridge or dine in style at the Viaduct.

It's a bustling city with great work opportunities and plenty to do, climb the bridge, head to the zoo or take a trip to Weiheke Island. There are plenty of parks and heaps of sports and events happening all the time. You won't be bored with your time in Auckland.

Auckland is a great starting point for your trip to New Zealand, you can have some great nights out as there are tons of clubs and it's easy to find live music around the city.

The Viaduct is really nice for early evening drinks by the water. Catching the bus from downtown gives you access to the whole city so it's really easy to get around, Kiwi Experience offer a free city tour which is worth a look.

It's a place to definately check out and spend a few days however you don't need too long before getting on to seeing the other amazing places New Zealand has to offer

Our favourite place in Auckland is the Nomads Backpackers. With 24 hour reception and a free spa and sauna it's a awesome place to stay. It is well located and has it's own bar downstairs. The place to be in Auckland.

Our recommendation from Auckland is the Skytower Skyjump. Although the freefall is controlled you have an unbelievable view from nearly 200m above the city. Can overcome all your sences you force yourself to jump off a perfectly good building?
